SUMMARY
In the dismantling of stone chamber conducted in Takamatsuzuka tomb in Asukamura, Nara Prefecture to restore and to preserve a national treasure mural, the western wall where groups of women named "Asukabijin" was drawn on was removed on May 10.
Groups of women was a vivid figure when it was discovered in 1972, but it gradually deteriorated and mold opened to the top of its face.The Cultural Affairs Agency hurried its rescue.
Its rescue succeeded safely. It is going to be restored after ten years.
COMMENT
I had worried whether "Asukabijin" would be rescued safely because it was important cultural treasure.
So I felt relief that it was removed safely.
Its mold widely opened.
I hope that its mold was completely removed.
